Several Banana Pi variants exist. The Banana Pro has built-in Wifi in addition to a SATA controller for hard disks and a Raspberry Pi compatible header
The easiest way to get started is to connect a monitor, keyboard mouse and then power up with a USB cable.
But not all monitors work with the BPi.

The Banana Pi does not have eMMC so you have to boot from a microSD card.
First, you have to download an image and install it on the SD card.

On Ubuntu, all you have to do now is extract the image, open a file browser and right click and select open with image writer.

Then, plug in the HDMI cable, a USB keyboard and mouse, and power up the Pi through the Micro USB port.
